The end of October (October 16-25, 2010)

So it’s time for catch-up with some photos that have been sitting on deck for about two months now… Here are photos covering Leo and Mike’s visit to our place, bird-banding, gulls, swallows, and the beach through the end of October. I wish I had written about this before, when I had fresher memories, but Leo came to visit while moving his bro Mike out of Brooklyn. We went out to Shu Swamp, we went Owling together, and we went banding where both McKillops had their first experience with mist-netting and banding. Later in the month, Harvey, Fredy and I banded a couple more times and had incredible fallout of Yellow-rumped Warblers during the month. Late in the month, I went to Jones Beach and had huge numbers of Tree Swallows (but no Cave Swallows) and some other assorted goodies…

Leo and his brother Mike joined Anne and I for banding. In attendence were regular banders Harvey (who holds the license and has been banding for ever) and Fredy (new to banding this Fall but doing well at it)
